We’ve picked out 10 to get you started.

  • Ace – when a player kills all five enemies in a single round
  • Bhop – bunny hopping to get across the map quicker (requires serious skill)
  • Cyka Blyat – a Russian NSFW insult
  • Dink – a headshot that might kill a player
  • Eco round – a team with less effective weapons will try to get through a round without buying anything new to save currency for future rounds
  • Frag (top/bottom) – best/worst player in the kill column
  • Jiggle peek – a move close to a wall to bait a shot from a player holding an angle of the map
  • Kobe – Achieving a kill with a HE grenade
  • Rushing – when a player or players rush to a choke-hold point on the map as fast as possible

Available Bets on CS: GO in India

As with other esports, and traditional sports, most bets fit into a couple of categories. We’ve explained the different kinds of bets you can make below.

Outright

Outright bets can be placed on any tournaments which offer a market.

Known as future market bets, you are betting on the outcome of the competition. Whether that is the winning team, top player, the country or region the winning team hails from, or whether your chosen team will reach the final.

Money-line Bets

As CS: GO is such a popular esport game, there are many markets available to place money-line bets on individual matches.

The markets may be the same as the outright, winning team, top player etc but they will centre around one match, rather than a tournament.

Accumulator

Just as in football or horse racing accumulators, when you need to accurately predict the scores or other markets across a couple of games or races, CS: GO accumulators work on the same premise.

If you bet in one match Evil Geniuses will beat Liquid, and also bet that Heroic will lose to FURIA, if you win both bets you will be rewarded a bigger some due to your accumulator.

Live Bets

Esports is broadcast and streamed live around the world, making it easy to watch and bet as the match progresses. Live bets or in-play bets as they are also known may be player X will achieve five kills in the match.

Specials

Sometimes esports bookmakers will run specials, often around big tournaments, but also regarding individual players such as Player X to join Team X or Team X or Player X to be named player of the tournament.

Other kinds of specials are for those in the know, such as specific map winners, correct scores etc.

How to Place a Winning Bet on CS: GO

When you are placing a bet of any kind of sport or event, it pays to know as much as you can about all the variables that could conceivably affect the outcome.

Unlike football, weather conditions are not likely to be an issue! However, as with traditional sports there a couple of factors which could be literal game-changers.

The below factors should be considered before you place a bet on CS: GO:

  • Current form and the global ranking of each team
  • Head to Head – esports teams have ‘bogey’ teams that they often can’t beat due to psychological factors
  • Teams schedules – Has it been a long hard season for the team or are they fresh and raring to go
  • Changes to roster or schedule – new players may take time to gel, or the absence of a talisman may disrupt a team’s form
  • Player social media accounts and news sites – players are human and any disturbance or personal issue could affect their performance

History of CS: GO

Developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) a multiplayer first-person shooter game, and is the fourth game in the Counter-Strike series.

Initially released for Windows, OS X, Xbox 360 and Playstation in 2012 to a positive from critics, the Linux version was released in 2014.

Like many games, Counter-Strike started life as a mod, in this case, from Half-Life. The first game in the series was released in 1999 and simply called Counter-strike, 1.6.

Source, and Global Offensive followed over the years, and each iteration focused heavily on players’ skill and ability to strategise.

It was easy to access, when other games could take days to get into, and easy to understand the basics. This opened Counter-Strike up to a much wider audience of casual gamers as well as more hard-core payers.

Each new version was a success and following many updates to Counter-Strike: Source, Valve began work on CS: GO in 2010, releasing it two years later.

The success of the Counter-Strike series and particularly CS: GO has always been down to the developers’ willingness to work with the fans, allowing the game to develop organically from fan feedback with new maps and skins.

With this approach, it was tailor-made for esports, and is the second most-watched esport on platforms such as Twitch, seconds only to League of Legends.

With more than a decade’s legacy under its belt, CS: GO looks set to remain one of the biggest esports on the planet for many years to come.
